Oh Hey Friday!

Friday Five

I’m basing my Friday Five on some pretty big news that I have yet to release on the ole Rad Mav blog…

I am in the midst of launching a chic tees & tank line. Yep, I’m finally doing it. I can’t believe I’m putting pen to paper and going through with it; it’s something I’ve been talking about for years, literally. If everything falls into place (fingers crossed) I’m hoping to launch early Fall 2014. I don’t intend on trying to make the Rad Maverix Brand huge or some kind of monstrous production. But I am enjoying the fact that I get to do two things I love during this entire process.

1 – Create/Design – I have been cutting/pasting/sewing/junking and creating since I could walk & probably even before I could walk. Growing up I spent a lot of my summer time at my Grandma June’s and she (& my mom) taught me how to sew; by hand and by machine at a very young age. (I could make a bomb-ass denim purse!)

2 – Business – When you break it all down, the art of ‘business’ is all a numbers game and basically I like to crunch numbers. I like making lists, organizing and developing spreadsheets. So what, sue me.

4. One of our designs was supposed to go into production today;  I would be shocked if I didn’t have them in my hands by early next week. *queue: excited face*

5. I woke up super late today but I can’t even be mad. First, it’s Friday and secondly, I’ve been contacted by a boutique in South Oklahoma about possibly purchasing some of my designs for wholesale. Like, seriously? We haven’t even launched yet so basically I’m ecstatic & in hopes that we can make an arrangement for them to sell our tees/tanks! Below is my “I woke up late but I’m still happy” face.

6. I don’t normally follow the rules. Haha – I had a weird dream last night that my eldest dogson, Gus, was mowing our lawn…using one of those John Deere zero-turn lawn mowers. In the dream he was actually using the handle bars (steering sticks?!) to move the mower. It was the weirdest thing because it felt so real! Haha

If you’re anything like me, you haven’t changed your computer’s desktop wallpaper in ages. I have had the same zebra desktop wallpaper since 2010. I’ll change it here and there to pictures of my sweet dogs but always go back to the generic black and white zebra. (If you own a Mac you know what picture I’m talking about.) I put this chic desktop wallpaper together featuring the March calendar. (Is it just me or can you believe that we are already 2 months in to 2014?!!) Feel free to download and dress up your computer’s desktop.

Nov. 1st, ’13 — OOTD

Happy Friday, Y’all! It’s a great day so far here in the heart of the Midwest. Not only is it Friday, jacket-weather, and officially the First day to decorate for Christmas, but a couple of co-workers brought some yummy snacks to work. Monster Cookie Dip with teddy graham’s and Monkey Bread–they were both DE-LICIOUS! We keep it pretty casual here at the bank, on Fridays. Here is my Outfit of the Day!

Pink Shirt: Adidas c/o Coffeyville Country Club / Sweater: Gap / Jeans: AEO (ON SALE!) / Shoes: Gap (Similar here – mine do not have the coral trim or bow)

I love a good relaxed pair of jeans–and these don’t stretch out at ALL. I can actually wear these 2 times before I need to wash them! (Don’t act like you don’t wear your jeans 2x before washing them!)

On another note, something really exciting happened last night/early this morning. After a Board Meeting and dinner with Momma J, I got home about 7:30…I hurried up and ran inside the house and turned out all the lights & closed all the blinds/curtains; to make sure the neighborhood hooligans wouldn’t know I was home. (Someone forgot to buy candy…) I laid in bed, with my doggies and finally fell asleep about 11. I knew Jake wouldn’t be getting home until late because he was in OKC for the U.S.T.R.C Finals (U.S. Team Roping Championship), so I didn’t bother to wait up for him. [Which isn’t unusual these days, he has been gone A LOT, this year, for Rodeo.]

He gets in about midnight, but I must have been passed out becuase I don’t remember him getting home, anyways, I woke up super early this morning, with this on my hand…

HOLY SH*T!

I’m a sucker for surprises. I really don’t want to come off as if I’m ‘bragging’, I’m just excited! [This is the first time, I’ve ever received a gift like this, from Jake, in our 4.5 years of being together!] He tells me, “Thank you for supporting me this year while I’ve been on the road, trying to make the IPRA Finals (International Pro Rodeo Association). I know it ain’t easy lovin’ a Cowboy. I really appreciate you.” You ARE Correct, honey, it AIN’T EASY loving a cowboy! lol

So basically, this Friday has been off to a great start and I hope everyone is having an equally great Friday!
