Friday Freebie | March Desktop Calendar

HAPPY FRIDAY

 via

It’s Friday. Thank you sweet baby Jesus!

Graphic design is something that I enjoy doing in my free time so I decided I would start a FRIDAY FREEBIE series, where I offer free downloads/pintables’, designed by yours truly. 😉

If you’re anything like me, you haven’t changed your computer’s desktop wallpaper in ages. I have had the same zebra desktop wallpaper since 2010. I’ll change it here and there to pictures of my sweet dogs but always go back to the generic black and white zebra. (If you own a Mac you know what picture I’m talking about.) I put this chic desktop wallpaper together featuring the March calendar. (Is it just me or can you believe that we are already 2 months in to 2014?!!) Feel free to download and dress up your computer’s desktop.

Gold Leaf Nails

IMG_5868

I bought this Birchbox & Color Club Nail Art Kit last April, when BB was having one of their “24-hour Discovery Dash” deals. I think I scored it for like $10.00. It came with a bag, red nail polish, and 2 nail pens, in black and white, & a jar of gold leaves that will last you a life time. I finally put the gold leaves to use last night.

Here’s how I got this look:

First, paint your base color. I used Essie’s Figi, a classy pale pink. (Make sure to allow plenty of drying time for this color.)

After your base color has dried, take a clear ‘base coat’ polish (I used OPIs Base Coat) and paint it over the top of your nail. You’ll want to do this one nail at a time.

Then take a pair of tweezers and pick up a piece of the foil, aka gold leaf/flakes, and gently lay it down on your nail. Obviously you don’t want each nail to look the same, so I would put a big gold leaf on one nail and maybe put 3 smaller leaves on the next. But whatever floats your boat.

Once you have one the desired amount of gold leaves on your nail, use the tweezers to lay down any pieces that are sticking up, or blow on it. Both work fine.

After you’re done applying all the gold leaves your little heart desires, go over with a clear shiny top-coat. (I used OPIs Top Coat)

Wallah.

Other events that have happened recently:

home-header

Saturday, we went to the Hard Rock Casino and ended up with free tickets to go watch Theresa Caputo’s “Live Experience” show. You know, the lady from the Long Island Medium show? That was pretty nuts.

& maybe I had a few glasses of Champagne.

I had a picnic with my doggies on Sunday when it was almost 60 degrees (and then the next day it was literally 17).

Anyways, that’s it for now, have a great weekend! 🙂
